NASGP is actively working on the final compliance features for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax in close collaboration with expert accountants.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax becomes mandatory from April 2026 for self-employed individuals and landlords with an income over £50,000 in the previous tax year.
NASGP already supports members who meet this threshold:
- LocumDeck already automatically records all locum income from various sources, handling the most complex part of quarterly submissions instantly.
- The platform already provides facilities for GPs to track expenses throughout the year.
In early 2026, we will release a new dedicated area for our members within our platform to help you generate a compliant submission:
- You will be able to set your tax year, choose an accounting method, and generate a quick, simple, and easy export spreadsheet tailored for quarterly updates.
- This export will be ready to use either by accountants or for direct submission via bridging software.
Dr Sara Chambers, NASGP’s lead for LocumDeck, said: “We know that as self-employed GPs, many of our members will need to use Making Tax Digital. Rest assured that LocumDeck will be ready with the tools to make your required quarterly updates as painless and time-efficient as possible.”
