GP locum sessions have gone up 40% between August and September in the NASGP’s LocumDeck booking system.
Reports for the month reflected a wider national trend that saw demand for GP appointments rise sharply in September. Between the last week of August and the first week of September, the number of appointments went up by 25%.
Steve Shaw, NASGP’s Chambers Development Manager , said: “It’s a huge relief to everyone here at NASGP that direct, instant bookings are showing a healthy increase, and that our members are ready and able to support that demand from increasingly busy practices.
“Our team has been working tirelessly throughout the summer to make sure that the complex task practice managers face of booking multiple GPs for dozens of sessions, often across multiple sites, is as simple as possible.”
The NASGP relaunched its booking system and website on 3 September, and initial feedback from users suggests that making bookings is faster and easier using the improved design.
