Complimentary booking fees when you get booked by selected practices
Be the first to be booked at a selected practice for a YEAR of complimentary fees!
If you are the ‘pioneer’ GP at a ‘target’ practice, we will waive your Instant Book fees at that practice for the next 12 months.

What is the NASGP’s ‘Pioneer GP’ incentive?
If you become the first GP to be booked for a session at a ‘target’ practice using our feature ‘Instant Book’, we will waive the cost of your booking fees at that practice for all bookings for the next 12 months (subject to terms below).
What’s a ‘target’ practice?
‘Target’ practices have registered on LocumDeck but not used our ‘Instant Book’ feature recently (or ever). We’ll identify these for you on LocumDeck with a ‘bullseye’ icon.
‘Target’ practices also include those who have never registered on LocumDeck. If you help them register, we will automatically add the ‘bullseye’ icon.
What is a ‘pioneer’ GP?
The first GP to book a session using LocumDeck’s Instant Book feature at a ‘target’ practice becomes the ‘pioneer GP’ for that practice.
You can become a pioneer GP at one or more practice.
What is ‘Instant Book’?
‘Instant Book’ is a feature for GPs and practices on LocumDeck.
GP locums can post their sessional availability, rates and terms to practices on LocumDeck for practices to browse. Then if a practice sees a session available, they can book the GP instantly. Read more about Instant Book.

What if I have to cancel an Instant Book?
Instant Book is a confirmed booking that the practice has bought into.
If you have to cancel for reasons like not having up-to-date availability, the practice may not be forgiving. Your reputation and chances of securing future bookings can be seriously impacted. It is absolutely crucial to only offer availability when you know you can work.
Why does a personal touch matter in a digital world?
Even with the ease of Instant Book, direct relationships with practice managers are still incredibly valuable.
A simple, personal introduction can make all the difference, building a connection that can lead to more opportunities and repeat bookings.
- Use our email template (coming soon) to contact the practice manager.
- If you aren’t in touch by email, try trying to reach them by phone.
- You can even send snail mail, or drop by with a hard copy CV for reception.

Then ask practices you’ve worked with to provide testimonials and references. These personal recommendations act as powerful social proof that you’re reliable and highly skilled.
Why is my profile so important for getting booked?
Your profile is your digital CV on NASGP’s booking platform.
Practices want to know who they are booking—your skills, experience, and the kind of feedback you’ve received. A complete profile builds trust and makes it easier for practices to choose you over others.

Why do we offer the ‘Pioneer GP’ incentive?
This incentive isn’t just about rewarding you; it’s about creating more opportunities for GPs and practices.
We’ve seen in other regions that when more GPs make themselves available for Instant Booking, a ‘snowball effect’ takes place: more practices discover and embrace the feature, which leads to a greater number of sessions and bookings for all GPs.
By participating, you’re directly contributing to – and benefiting from – the growth of a more active and efficient booking system.
How Instant Book powers our incentive
Our new incentive rewards you for using a powerful feature: Instant Book. If you’re new to Instant Book, it’s designed to revolutionise the way you manage your locum work.
Here’s why GPs find it so beneficial:
- Save time and effort: Say goodbye to endless back-and-forth messages and manual booking approvals. Set your calendar once, and you’re ready to go!
- Get clarity and control: You define the sessions and terms, and only get booked for what you want. Everything is automatically logged, providing a clear audit trail.
- Find more work, at better rates: Practices love the speed and simplicity of Instant Book, making them more likely to rebook you. GPs using Instant Book tend to secure more work.
- Do less admin: Reduce your administrative burden, knowing your bookings are streamlined and the booking fee is tax-deductible.
Terms of the ‘Pioneer GP’ incentive
1 After you earn ‘Pioneer GP’ status, it’s crucial that you work the Instant Book session that triggered your Pioneer status.
2 If you cancel your first Instant Book session at a practice, your Pioneer status for that practice may be transferred to the next GP who gets an Instant Book there. If the practice cancels an Instant Book session, your Pioneer status will not be affected.
If you have a serious reason for cancellation (e.g., illness, bereavement), please contact us at info@nasgp.org.uk.
