This is a new guideline from NICE on using low energy x-ray treatment for rectal cancer. It was published in November 2025.
Not surprisingly, this was all over the news when it was published, so you’ll probably have heard a bit about it anyway, but I thought it helpful to give a bit more information.
What is this treatment?
It is low energy contact x-ray brachytherapy.
