Dr Richard Fieldhouse will join Dr Victoria Tzortziou-Brown and Dr Venothan Suri for a discussion on GP workforce next month.
The three GPs at the plenary session will discuss the question, ‘Have we swapped a recruitment crisis for a retention crisis?’.
The session is part of the free CPD event, Pulse LIVE London, on Tuesday 26 March.
Dr Fieldhouse is the chair of NASGP, Dr Tzortziou-Brown is the vice chair for external affairs at the Royal College of General Practitioners, and Dr Suri is the co-chair of NW Hillingdon LMC.
Pulse LIVE London covers two days at Hammersmith Novotel and GPs who attend accrue eight CPD hours.
Another speaker, Dr George Moncrieff, will present NASGP’s free lunchtime webinar next month.
Dr Fieldhouse said: “I’m really glad to be at this event, both as a delegate and a speaker, especially as workforce is so topical at the moment. The number of GP locums in the UK has increased by 5,000 GPs in the last five years, but the funds to utilise us in a sustainable way has not materialised. And with the GP contract negotiations not going as well as they could be at the moment, with the potential for looming industrial action, what could possibly go wrong?!”
