On behalf of its members, this year NASGP is proud to support the work of Health Poverty Action (HPA).

The charity works in solidarity with health workers, activists and communities worldwide to improve health and challenge the causes of poverty.

In 2022, NASGP has grown to 4,100 active members, plus 3627 extra on our mailing list and members have fulfilled sessions across 3,512 practice contacts.

Dr Richard Fieldhouse, NASGP chair, said: “Health Poverty Action are global experts at focusing on simple and practical ways to make real differences to health care in remote communities. Rather than implementing large infrastructure projects, they focus on working with local people to find the best solution to help deliver services across a wide area, for example, providing a donkey and cart to help transport pregnant women and midwives across rugged terrains.

“We hope we speak for all our members at this time of year in helping support such wonderful causes as this.”

"I am delighted by the way the NASGP has grown and become such a good support group for locums and other non-principals. I have really appreciated the mailings and enjoyed attending one conference. Please keep up the good work!"

Dr Sarah Steed, GP, Cambridge
