GP out-of-hours and urgent care live on NASGP’s LocumDeck

NASGP has now added a new feature to bring out-of-hours services, urgent care providers and hubs onto LocumDeck.

When GPs go to ‘Add Practice(s)’ on LocumDeck, they will now be prompted with the following message: ‘What type of organisation do you want to add?’

The ‘Other’ provider option lets GPs add out-of-hours, urgent care providers and hubs where GPs adopt fixed shifts from a provider’s roster.

GPs can now join a waiting list to be notified when this service goes live in their area.

LocumDeck is a live work booking and management platform for GPs and primary care providers, founded and run by the NASGP.

Dr Richard Fieldhouse, NASGP chair, wrote: “We are currently piloting our new fixed-shift feature with select urgent care providers.

“While we aren’t open in all areas yet, GP interest helps us show local providers that our members are ready and waiting to work.”

Practices and providers can sign up for free

"NASGP came along way before people understood the need for sessional and small group practices to be valued by the system. On joining as a single-handed GP many years ago, I was welcomed into the team by initially wrote a few blogs for the organisation, which followed my understanding of yet another NHS reorganisation. It was only due to the vision and drive of Richard, your founder, that NASGP survived the large practice dominance. The inception of being a portal for the needs of GP locums was a masterstroke. Those who knew about it quickly realised the true meaning of networking. So here we are many years down the line and in footballing terminology NASGP now play in the Premier League.
"Well done to all as this is a just reward for the loyalty, dedication and hard work of your team. I have fond memories of working with NASGP and would urge every practice, large or small, to join this organisation, there are only gains and no losses."
