
LocumDeck is being updated to act as a central digital record-keeping tool.
It will be released in March in advance of the start the of MTD in April 2026 to:
- Automatically record LocumDeck bookings and income.
- Provide updated, HMRC-aligned expense categories for manual expense entry.
- Allow GPs to manually add other self-employed fees (private work, cremation fees, etc.).
- Generate quarterly data spreadsheets that can be used with bridging software, for importing into specialist accountancy software or by an accountant for direct submission to HMRC.
Every GP manages their finances differently, so we are building three flexible pathways to choose from:
- With an accountant: GPs will be able to export a clean ledger that an accountant can use to file on their behalf.
- Using accounting software like Xero or QuickBooks: GPs will be able to generate data files designed for importing into specialist accountancy software.
- Self-filing: We are now finalising a low-cost ‘bridging’ option – no accounting software required – with more details to follow.
However a GP chooses to file, LocumDeck does its fair share of the heavy lifting for them.
