Prof Robert Winston to present free NASGP fertility talk in May

Professor Robert Winston will present the NASGP’s next free lunchtime webinar, an infertility update for GPs.

NASGP’s next webinar will take place on Thursday 4 May from 1-1.45pm.

Prof Winston is currently Professor of Science and Society at Imperial College London. He has over 300 scientific publications about human reproduction and the early stages of pregnancy to his name. He is Chairman of the Genesis Research Trust, a charity which funds high quality research into women’s and babies’ health.

He is a well-established communicator of science to all age groups, both as a BAFTA-winning broadcaster and an author of over 20 titles, as well as a peer in the House of Lords and an Arsenal fan.

NASGP has now been running free lunchtime clinical talks for sessional GPs for over a year with topics covering:

  • Risk management for GP locums.
  • Menopause in general practice.
  • Skin cancer in general practice.
  • Bowel cancer in general practice.
  • GP mental health.
  • Brain tumours, presentations and diagnosis.
  • Solution-focused approaches for GPs.
  • Ovarian cancer – an update for GPs.
  • Improv skills for GPs.
  • IBD: what do GPs need to know?
  • Medicolegal pitfalls for GP locums.
  • GP update: endometriosis.

Many of the talks are also available to GPs via NASGP’s YouTube channel, where they are curated into a playlist for ease of reference.

"I started working as a locum GP in January this year and NASGP have been invaluable in helping to co-ordinate my bookings and organise all the administrative aspects of sessional work which can be complex and time consuming. Their client support is outstanding and they have always resolved any queries promptly and personally. They care about the service they provide and I would not hesitate to recommend them to any sessional GPs who want to minimise time spent on administration and focus on providing patients with high quality care."
