Some UK GPs (GP locums or otherwise) may live abroad but want to do remote work for practices in England.

Dr Sarah Townley, deputy medical director at Medical Protection Society (MPS) advises:

“All GMC registered doctors should be aware of and abide by the GMC Remote Prescribing high level principles if providing services from abroad. The medicolegal issues surrounding cross-border telemedicine can be complex; the most fundamental question being in which country the consultation is being held when the parties are not in the same location, and hence in which country any clinical negligence claim should be brought.
