The new guideline from NICE on postnatal care is a bit of a mammoth one, but I highly recommend a quick read through it (it should only take 10 minutes to glance over the useful bits). It really is a one-stop-shop of information. It includes links to many of the other relevant guidelines.
It is aimed at all clinicians, so covers midwife care as well as GP care and it can be a bit tricky to work out what should be done by whom and when.
There are a couple of areas where there is new guidance or a change in practice and I will highlight these first.
