Prostate Cancer
Both these treatments are for early localised disease and aim to cause fewer complications. Evidence for efficacy is limited at present, but both seem to reduce complications compared to invasive treatments.
- Cryoablation – needles are inserted through the perineum and frozen argon injected.
- High-Intensity Focussed Ultrasound – an ultrasound probe is inserted into the rectum and ultrasound is then directed at the tumour and ablates it.
