Kyleena intrauterine system

This is a statement from Jan 2018, updated Mar 2019, from FSRH giving information about Kyleena, a new levonorgestrel (LNG) containing intrauterine system (IUS).

What is Kyleena?

Kyleena is an IUS. It contains levonorgestrel, like Mirena does.

It is licensed for five years of use, but only for contraception. It is not licensed for use in heavy menstrual bleeding, nor for the progesterone component of HRT.

What other IUS are there?
