Greenlight XPS (laser treatment) for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia

This is a new guideline on using the Greenlight XPS system for treating BPH. This has been widely reported in the media. It is as effective as TURP in low-risk patients and has the big advantage of being able to be done as day surgery.

The system involves inserting a laser fibre through a cystoscope to vaporise the enlarged prostate. It can also be used to cauterise any bleeding vessels. There is evidence of fewer complications than with TURP and also fewer readmissions.

"LocumDeck really is brilliant. I've always relied on my own system - I never put my faith in any other system before LocumDeck.

But I was genuinely buzzing when I used it yesterday - how easy it was to use and how many other things it does. It will significantly change and improve my invoicing and end of the month. "
