BASHH | Safer sex advice

3rd September 2012 by Louise Hudman

This guidance is really aimed at GU Medicine – but some useful bits for us. The point of it is that even short interventions can have some impact on people having safer sex.

There is an excellent patient leaflet, which could be used for people you think are at risk.

Generally think about asking about safe sexual practices in adolescents, men who have sex with men, people who’ve had previous STDs or been contacts of STDs and people who have frequent partner changes. If you give out the advice when they consult for something relevant, it is more likely to lead to change!

"A must-have for any GP locum.

I have used NASGP website since I started locuming three years ago. It caters for all my locum needs, and I found LocumDeck particularly useful for bookings and invoicing. The automatically-generated invoices and pension forms save me countless hours of admin time every month, and the recently introduced e-signed forms are brilliant.

The assistance I have received has always been quick and helpful. The forums and updates have also kept me in the loop with important issues which may affect my practice.

I cannot recommend this website enough. "
