£250,000 extra to fund locum GPs and nurses in Essex

Practices across Essex will receive an additional £250,000 on top of £150,000 already received to boost their local workforce by hiring freelance GPs and nurses. Essex is particularly at risk from a GP recruitment crisis due to being surrounded either by sea, London and the Cambridge area.
