A Flexible Workforce Platform on the Isle of Wight

The platform lets you work your way – while helping practices find the right skills.

The NASGP has partnered with NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICS and the Central and West Wight Health Alliance PCN to launch a flexible workforce platform for nurses on NASGP’s LocumDeck platform.

LocumDeck already allows GP practices across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to access hundreds of hours of GP time every month. Now, in collaboration with practice managers, nurses and professional bodies, we have adapted LocumDeck to make it easy for nurses and GP practices to work flexibly together.

“LocumDeck does everything you want it to do in an instant. I absolutely love the facility for receiving locums’ invoices and the facility for signing pension forms electronically. They are then instantly sent with an audit trail. It is fabulous! You are notified the moment a GP locum adds availability, which is just fantastic. I spend a lot of time just chasing agencies to see if they have availability, so to be notified the moment availability is advertised is a new concept, and very welcome. I have no hesitation in recommending LocumDeck – it has already eased my workload.” Sue, practice manager, Portsmouth

Do I have to live on the Isle of Wight to participate?

No, you can live anywhere. You just need to be interested in working on the Isle of Wight at the Central and West Wight Health Alliance PCN (Newport Health Centre, West Cowes Medical Practitioners Group, and Wight Primary Partnerships Limited).

How do I start working as a self-employed nurse?

To commence work on a self-employed basis you would need to register with HMRC. Read more.

You can start working as a self-employed nurse by signing up to LocumDeck and booking shifts directly with participating practices on the Isle of Wight.

Where can I find my statutory and mandatory training certificates?

If you completed training on Bluestream Academy, individual certificates from past completions can be purchased directly from us for £1 + VAT per certificate should the individual not wish to proceed with a new account.

Locum nurses can register for an individual Blue Stream Academy account for just £49 + VAT per year (we need a valid NMC number to proceed with this). Once the new account has been set-up, we can transfer across any training records from the nurses previous practice account.
