NASGP membership funded until 2026 for GPs in Gloucestershire

Membership will be funded until 2026 for GPs in Gloucestershire, NASGP can reveal.

When GPs confirm an in-person session at a practice in Gloucestershire ICS on LocumDeck, NASGP automatically gives them all the benefits of membership until 2026 and waives local booking fees, thanks to funding from the ICS.

NASGP also runs similar funded partnerships for GPs who work in Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Essex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Over 100 GPs have now benefited from funded membership in Gloucestershire, working thousands of hours a month at local practices.

Dr Richard Fieldhouse, NASGP chair, said: “We are incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made in partnership with Gloucestershire ICB over the last two years. Our collaborative efforts have greatly enhanced the support available to practices and significantly improved the working conditions for local GPs. This initiative ensures that GPs who choose locum work as part of their career portfolio are fully equipped to offer their invaluable services to practices in the most effective way possible.

“The extension of our project to include nurses and other clinical and non-clinical colleagues is a testament to the growing capabilities of LocumDeck. This not only allows us at NASGP to further our reach but also opens up opportunities for other ICBs and their practices to leverage the transformative power of LocumDeck.

“We remain committed to fostering these partnerships and look forward to seeing the continued positive impact on the GP community in Gloucestershire and beyond.”

"I was delighted to have been invited to join GP locum chambers. I enjoy great peer support from my colleagues via our monthly meetings, which has been helpful to me discussing some specific things that arise with GP locum working. I have found LocumDeck really straightforward to use and immensely helpful; in particular invoicing and the pension forms A and B has cut down my admin time dramatically, which I’m pleased about. The support from NASGP's membership support manager, is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend NASGP chambers to anyone working or thinking of working as a GP locum."
