Helen Holmes-Fogg will soon join NASGP as its new chief executive officer.
Helen brings a depth and breadth of executive NHS experience. She has previously worked as the director of integrated urgent care and NHS111, founder CEO of the West Lancashire GP Federation, and more recently as director of strategy for the national primary care digital health partner organisation, Redmoor Health.
She introduced new ways of working such as non-clinical triage and signposting, supporting a pilot and stability partner for the originating NHS111 service in the North West and working with national bodies such as NHS Confederation.
With over 25 years of transformative leadership in the NHS, Helen is a committed advocate for general practice and primary care, particularly the portfolio workforce whom she has spent many years working with during her career.
Dr Richard Fieldhouse, founder and chair of NASGP, said: “Helen Holmes-Fogg brings a unique blend of strategic expertise, operational grit, and genuine passion for creating impactful, sustainable change within healthcare.
“Her extensive experience, from founding the West Lancashire GP Federation to her strategic role at Redmoor Health, makes her the perfect fit for leading NASGP into its next chapter.
“Currently, there is a huge disconnect between the sessional part of the workforce and what is needed for a future-proof, resilient health service.
“Helen’s background, experience and network, coupled with her passion and empathy, are exactly what we need to bridge this gap and ensure that sessional professionals are fully integrated into the NHS workforce.
“With Helen at the helm, we are confident that NASGP will continue to promote and develop the benefits and importance of our valued members alongside our workforce placement platform, LocumDeck, as the precision tool to achieve their integration.
“Her dedication to supporting the workforce with practical, future-ready solutions will be instrumental in advocating for the growing NHS portfolio workforce and championing their pivotal role in healthcare.”
Helen will join the team on 2 December.
