NASGP has opened applications for a new GP locum chambers for GPs in Barnet, Haringey and Enfield.
The new chambers will support freelance GP locums working in isolation around north London boroughs including Waltham Forest, Hackney, Camden and Islington.
NASGP has also launched a new chambers in Mid-Essex following the success of its North East Essex chambers.
Chambers offers GP locums a ‘virtual practice’ arrangement that connects them with local colleagues and practices. Each Chambers is a local team of up to 15 GP locums who meet up regularly. It is a collaborative group who share a dedicated manager and clinical director while retaining independence.
GPs can apply to join the chambers by logging into LocumDeck and clicking on the link to ‘North London Chambers’ on the LocumDeck dashboard.
Dr Richard Fieldhouse, chair of the NASGP, writes: “GP workforce planning traditionally focuses on salaried GPs and partnerships, with very little attention paid to the importance of also supporting a motivated and engaged GP locum workforce to support practices.
“By enabling local GPs and practices to have unfettered access to NASGP resources, we provide the simplest way for practices to link in with local locums, as well as creating greater access to salaried and partnership opportunities.”
