Fully-funded membership scheme launches for Berks, Bucks, Oxon and Frimley

GPs working in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Frimley ICS area can now get fully-funded NASGP membership until 1 July 2023 as part of a new locum scheme.

GPs can post their own availability and see availability requests from over 270 practices as part of the offer.

As part of the same scheme, GPs can also enjoy fully-funded membership of NASGP’s Locum Chambers.

The scheme follows the successful development of both NASGP’s BOB Chambers, and the launch of a similar scheme in Hertfordshire and Essex.

Membership is supported by a partnership between NASGP and two local ICSes: BOB and Frimley Health and Care.

Dr Richard Fieldhouse, NASGP chair, says: “It can be really tough to work as a GP locum, and practices are just so overwhelmed at the moment. So we’re delighted to be able to work with local ICSs to be able to provide support to locums and practices wherever it’s available.

“We’ve designed LocumDeck to be a very simple yet powerful way for practices to engage local locums, whilst still giving locums full professional control over how they are best able to support practices.

“We couldn’t have done this without the support of so many loyal NASGP members who’ve helped us create a platform that caters for all the different nuances of working as a GP locum.”

Join the NASGP’s free three-month trial to get a weekly round-up of the news that affects NHS sessional GPs.

"Booking GP locum sessions via LocumDeck's calendar is the best – plus, it's regularly updated. Support by the team is outstanding too, with Ali and Jacqui always ready to help."

Dr Raina Makhdoom, GP, Rayleigh, Essex
