GP locums ‘due Covid-19 vaccination by mid-February’: health secretary

The health secretary has promised that all NHS workers will be vaccinated against Covid-19, Pulse reports.

NHS England has published a letter setting out an ‘immediate’ requirement for all health and social care staff to receive vaccinations.

The letter specifically states that ‘temporary, locum or “bank” staff’ need the jab too.

The health secretary’s pledge follows strong campaigning by the BMA on the issue.

But GP locums have reported delays and problems with access that GP locums have faced while looking for appointments. Read more on NASGP.org.uk.

"I’ve done respiratory nursing clinics through Frimley ICS Primary Care Staff Bank and it was such a great experience. During my clinic I realised how valued and needed my skills are. Locuming gave me a great sense of pride and enthusiasm and I felt respected for my work. It was really easy to book and get paid too. I would recommend LocumDeck for Nurses to my colleagues."
