Covid-19 vaccination campaign to be led by boards and trusts in Wales

GPs working on the Covid-19 vaccination campaign will work for health boards and trusts, Pulse reports.

The Welsh Government has now managed to ‘ensure each health board and trust has appropriate facilities and equipment to receive, store, prepare and administer vaccines in a safe and controlled manner and plans for rapid deployment through a variety of means (mass immunisation, mobile, occupational and wider primary care)’, a statement said.

In Scotland, health boards will take the lead as well. By contrast in England, GPs will lead the vaccination programme and Northern Ireland is expected to follow suit, Pulse suggests.

LocumDeck makes it easy for you to offer your own sessions for Covid vaccination clinics, where you can state your session rate and PPE requirements. Your local NASGP Locum Chambers can also help you find opportunities to work in Covid-19 vaccination clinics at practices in your area.

"Since joining NASGP Locum Chambers I have noted a positive change which I feel has made a significant contribution in both my professional and personal life.

LocumDeck's booking system puts me in touch with a large number of surgeries. I work part-time and the software is intricately tailored to facilitate working at my pace and choice.

In addition, I have access to the NASGP Locum Chambers' supporting infrastructure such as the Chambers Manager through whom all my admin work (like generating invoices and pension forms) is organised. In the past this felt like a load. Now I feel that my time is 'freed up' and so I have a better work-life balance. Working with NASGP Locum Chambers has simplified my life."
