GPs can attend ‘IBD: what do GPs need to know?’ for free, presented by Dr Charlie Andrews next month on behalf of Crohns & Colitis UK.
Dr Andrews is a GP partner in Midsomer Norton near Bath and a GP with extended role in Gastroenterology at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. Alongside his GP role, he runs a weekly outpatient clinic at his local hospital and is also training as an endoscopist. Since 2017 he has been a committee member of the PCSG (Primary Care Society for Gastroenterology) and enjoys all aspects of gastroenterology, with a focus on primary care education. Between 2018 and 2020 he was regional clinical champion for inflammatory bowel disease for the RCGP. As a member of IBD UK, he participated in the creation of the national IBD standards in 2019 and has produced a series of IBD-related podcasts for primary care clinicians (‘The IBD series for primary care’).
The event is the latest in a series of NASGP’s lunchtime webinars for GP locums, held on the first Thursday of every month.
In September Dr Helen Garr, clinical lead at NHS Practitioner Health, presented on signs and symptoms of burnout in GPs, and how GP locums can prevent burnout at work.
Watch the videos of our past speakers including Dr Tony Downs on skin cancer and Dr Tina Peers on menopause on Knowledgebase.
ETA: This talk was originally scheduled to be given by Dr Kevin Barrett, who can no longer attend.
