What are the benefits of joining NASGP?
Being with NASGP makes your working life easier. Founded and run by GP locums, NASGP is the independent, membership support organisation for sessional GPs. We know how hard locum work can be and we have tools and resources that give you everything you need to work well as a locum.
LocumDeck, our platform, makes booking locum sessions easier for you and the practices you work with. We know you want to work on your own terms and have everything coordinated. So LocumDeck gives you a customisable terms template, and booking and invoicing tools to help you find the work you want and track your finances. Plus we give you everything you need to know to work as a GP locum in our Knowledgebase, News and Money and Pensions sections, and provide support and connection with your peers and our Membership Support Managers in our forums and from our helpdesk.
For even more support, this partnership also includes the option to join NASGP Locum Chambers. NASGP Locum Chambers is ideal for GP locums who don’t want to go it alone. Joining NASGP Locum Chambers means you become part of a respected collective. Each local NASGP Locum Chambers is a local team of up to 15 GP locums who meet up regularly. It is a collaborative group who share a dedicated manager and clinical director while retaining independence. Find out more.

Is there a cost to making manual bookings?
No, there is no cost to making a manual booking on LocumDeck. To qualify for regional funded membership, make sure the manual bookings you add are also confirmed on LocumDeck with the local practice.
‘Manual bookings’ are bookings that are not made through LocumDeck’s Instant Book system – for example if a practice manager texts you to book a session. To make a manual booking, add the practice or organisation to your LocumDeck address book. If the practice isn’t already on LocumDeck, you can add it manually to your address book. Add the manual booking to your LocumDeck calendar, and once you have completed a session, it’s ready immediately for you to generate the invoice and pension form.
We always recommend using LocumDeck to manage manual bookings so you can manage your calendar, invoices and terms for those sessions in one place. Read more about manual bookings and how to manage them on LocumDeck.
Once you get the hang of adding manual sessions, we strongly recommend that you take full advantage of using Instant Book, which is fully funded by the ICB for all sessions within this partnership. Instant Book saves so much time for GP locums and practices alike, and in areas where we’ve been running regional partnerships like this since 2020, it’s become the favourite way to book work. Find out more.

All sessions performed remotely through LocumDeck are subject to a remote session fee of £11. You can see all our funded partnerships here.

What local GPs and practice managers are saying about LocumDeck
"I was delighted to have been invited to join GP locum chambers. I enjoy great peer support from my colleagues via our monthly meetings, which has been helpful to me discussing some specific things that arise with GP locum working. I have found LocumDeck really straightforward to use and immensely helpful; in particular invoicing and the pension forms A and B has cut down my admin time dramatically, which I’m pleased about. The support from NASGP's membership support manager, is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend NASGP chambers to anyone working or thinking of working as a GP locum."
Dr Chloe Evans, GP, Oxford
"We have used LocumDeck for a number of months now and find it really useful when booking locums. You can see the availability of GPs, their documents are all loaded on the site and you can book instantly – it takes minutes to do. There are also no expensive locum agency fees to pay – just the GP’s actual payment. It's quick and hassle-free."
Lesley Munro-Faure, Managing Partner, Unity Health, Buckinghamshire
"I rely on the NASGP for advice and support. Having been a locum in the past without LocumDeck, I realise how much easier LocumDeck makes my life, especially as I don't enjoy admin. I can see at a glance how many bookings I have and where the gaps are. I have some practices who instant book me - booking directly into free sessions I have added. I would highly recommend it to others."
Dr Susannah Denny, GP, Berkshire
"I am so glad and grateful for being a member of NASGP's BOB Locum Chambers. I started with them in a critical period of my career as I was a newly-qualified GP, looking for work in a new area. NASGP chair Dr Richard Fieldhouse and Membership Support Manager Ali Lewis's help was a godsend. They introduced me to locum work in a friendly and kind manner, provided valuable support and excellent service through the ever-improving LocumDeck and NASGP website. NASGP also helped me funnelling down all the job offers I received through my locum work until I recently agreed for a salaried position in a GP practice that I love working at. "
Dr Nazar Ahmed, GP, Oxford
"I am a huge fan of LocumDeck and the platform you’ve built is just fantastic. I used it a few years ago and returned to locuming again recently, and the platform has evolved into something even better. When I came back to locuming, I wasn’t sure how I'd find work, so I decided to turn on Instant Book and see what happened. Within 30 minutes, I was fully booked for the next month, I was delighted!"
Dr Selina Shaw, GP, Buckinghamshire
"LocumDeck has made booking a GP locum so much easier – it's instantaneous. LocumDeck suits our ever-changing needs and sudden urgency for locums. It has made our life so much easier and I would recommend all surgeries give it a go."
Hilary Greenaway, The Priory Surgery, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
