321 CENTRAL LANCASHIRE: That conference views with alarm the growing unattractiveness of being a GP principal as market forces and a shortage of GPs mean that locum costs are forced significantly higher.
It's cheap to blame the expense of locums as the cause of the unattractiveness of being a principal, particularly when so many principals are choosing to become locums. Rather than passively sit on the sidelines and shriek, how about backing Kent's motion 349 to "[instruct] the GPC to support sessional GPs to establish locum chambers" to much better support practices.
