Support for Sessional GP Groups
The NASGP guide to setting up
and running a Sessional GP Group
The NASGP was set
up in 1997 to improve the welfare of all Sessional
GPs. As an organisation, one of the ways we hoped to
do this was through supporting the many Sessional GP
groups throughout the UK.
When we first formed, there were only 7 Sessional GP
Groups, but to date there are now over 90 groups in
the UK. All are organised and run in different ways,
and we hope to bring many of the useful ideas
together in this toolkit.

The NASGP allied Sessional GP Group (aSGPG) scheme PILOT
The scheme gives a budget to each aSGPG whilst taking over many of the
management aspects of running the group such as managing its database,
accounting and banking issues and data protection, whilst still allowing the
group the same full control. It also gives an opportunity to feed into the
NASGP’s role as a representative organisation.
