NASGP Handbook now on-line
The full text of the NASGPs Yellow
Book, the definitive guide to living and working as a GP
non-principal in the UK, has now gone on-line on the
NASGPs website. Editor of the
Handbook, Dr Shaun OConnell, said So popular has the demand for
membership of the NASGP been that weve practically exhausted our current
supply of 2,000 copies initially paid for by the MDU. All our members have been
receiving a free copy when they join, but we felt that, as so many of our
members are on the internet, they can also use the on-line version,
particularly as it is searchable. Were now in the process of trying to
find sponsorship for the second edition so that we can substantially revise the
book for a second edition. NASGP Webmaster Dr Ed Penman said
With over 7,500 visitors over the last 12 months, the
NASGP website has
become the first port of call for many GPs either finishing their registrar
year, retiring from a principal post or currently working as a non-principal.
With so much demand, the logical step was to allow all 40,000 UK GPs free
access to this 273-page book. The NASGP hope to be able to
provide all our members with a free printed second edition as soon as we can
secure sponsorship.
